What's new

Obama's Made New Friends !

Do you really think Al Queda or the Gestapo for that fact gives a rats ass about "American Ideals"???
I do care about American Ideals.

That is the point.

You obviously have missed it, and will continue to do so.

You can't promote American Ideals by behaving in the same manner as Al Queda or the Gestapo.

Where has it proven that we have? Any treatment that may (or may not) have happen at Gitmo pales in comparison to what Al Queda or the Gestapo would do.

Gosh! Reading these posts (especially the one with D.C. in ashes) tells me how scared some of you really are! Keep this up and we'll have to change the last line of our national anthem from "home of the brave " to something more accurate.

I think living our lives freely without extra layers of security blankets is the ultimate form of bravery.

Hitlers Gestapo & Waffen SS didn't end up anyplace like Gitmo????

Nope they were taken care of on the spot.
Such as Execution of SS soldiers at Dachau

"The killing of unarmed POWs did not trouble many of the men in I company that day for to them the SS guards did not deserve the same protected status as enemy soldiers who have been captured after a valiant fight. To many of the men in I company, the SS were nothing more than wild, vicious animals whose role in this war was to starve, brutalize, torment, torture and murder helpless civilians." Flint Whitlock, The Rock of Anzio, From Sicily to Dachau: A history of the U.S. 45th Infantry Division

Waffen-SS soldiers were executed by American liberators of Dachau

You see, just as those people you mentioned above, they had real Cajones. You would have run up to them and gave em a big'ol hug.

My my...makes Abu Ghraib look like kindergarten....wonder where the touchy feely Lib's were then?

Personally I'd like to see the Gitmo folks in the general population of some of our finer correctional institutions where they can enjoy the pleasures of interacial same sex relationships

Hearing those who won't be let go will spend their days in one of three military prisons in the US.

Didn't you ever listen to Mom when she said "Two wrongs don't make a right"

The folks held in Gitmo are by all accounts "Bad Actors" and they should be brought to justice. Meantime they should be held either as POW's or Criminals and not as some imaginary category of "enemy Combatants".

The Constitution is not a document of convenience, rather it is a statement of who we are as a people.

Killing on the field of battle is one thing.

How prisoners, criminals and such are treated is yet another. Personally I'd like to see the Gitmo folks in the general population of some of our finer correctional institutions where they can enjoy the pleasures of interacial same sex relationships

Again, there has been nothing wrong with the way suspected terrorists captured on the battlefield (not soldiers) were treated at Gitmo. If this was any other war like in the past we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

Actually it was a part of the planned 'Blame everything on Bush' campaign since 2000.

Those lefties still have wood over Al Gore not being able to steal the election.

Not to put to fine a point on this but would you be kind enough to post the Declaration of War voted on by the US Congress and signed by President Bush?

Also since the above doesn't exist perhaps you could enlighten us as to how we legally justified our incursion into Iraq???

Also what is the difference between a "Soldier" and a "Fighter"?

See the problem here is simple, it's understanding that the purpose of language is to clarify not obfuscate.s person The political Class believes exactly the opposite. Information is the enemy of those in power as an informed citizen is dangerous when your policies are built upon lies and half truths. Barack knows this and will hire the best obfuscators he can find

FYI, Commander in Chief does not need congressional approval. Maybe a Poli-Sci class is needed for you.

The resoltuion allowed the use of force only if they were in violation of the terms...which they were not.

Whereas the United States is determined to prosecute the war on terrorism and Iraq's ongoing support for international terrorist groups combined with its development of weapons of mass destruction in direct violation of its obligations under the 1991 cease-fire and other United Nations Security Council resolutions make clear that it is in the national security interests of the United States and in furtherance of the war on terrorism that all

relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions be enforced, including through the use of force if necessary;

Where did you come up with the notion that “enemy combatantâ€￾ is an “imaginaryâ€￾ term? With all due respect I suggest that you become familiar with the Supreme Court Ruling Ex Parte Quirin wherein the term “enemy combatantâ€￾ is assigned to an “unlawful combatantâ€￾.

Per the Geneva Convention, Articles 4 and 5, an “unlawful combatantâ€￾ is someone who commits belligerent acts but does not qualify for POW status.

How prisoners, criminals and such are treated is yet another. Personally I'd like to see the Gitmo folks in the general population of some of our finer correctional institutions where they can enjoy the pleasures of interracial same sex relationships.

Bizarre sexual interrogation techniques against enemy combatants held at GITMO were detailed in a 60 Minutes interview with Sgt. Erik Saar in May 2005. One form of interrogation commonly called the “sex-upâ€￾ approach has been described by many as a form of torture because it, get this, is a form of religious intimidation! During one such “sex-upâ€￾ interrogation, Sgt. Saar described a female interrogator interrogating a “high priorityâ€￾ prisoner:

"As she stood in front of him, she slowly started to unbutton her Army blouse. She had on underneath the Army blouse a tight brown Army T-shirt, touched her breasts, and said, 'Don't you like these big American breasts?'" says Saar. "She wanted to create a barrier between this detainee and his faith, and if she could somehow sexually entice him, he would feel unclean in an Islamic way, he would not be able to pray and go before his God and gain that strength, so the next day, maybe he would be able to start cooperating, start talking to her."

But the prisoner wasn’t talking, so Saar said the interrogator increased the pressure.

"She started to unbutton her pants and reached and put her hands in her pants and then started to circle around the detainee. And when she had her hands in her pants, apparently she used something to put what appeared to be menstrual blood on her hand, but in fact was ink," says Saar.

"When she circled around the detainee, she pulled out her hand, which was red, and said, 'I'm actually menstruating right now, and I'm touching you. Does that please your God? Does that please Allah?' And then he kind of got pent up and shied away from her, and she then took the ink and wiped it on his face, and said, 'How do you like that?'" Then, the interrogator sent the prisoner back to his cell with a message.

"She said, 'Have fun trying to pray tonight while there's no water in your cell,’ meaning that she was gonna have the water turned off in his cell, so that he then could not go back and become ritually clean. So he then therefore could not pray," says Saar.

Exit question. If “sex-upâ€￾ interrogations are considered heinous, cruel and torture, how different is it from your desire to see them released into our “finer correctional institutions where they can enjoy the pleasures of interracial same sex relationshipsâ€￾?
