OK, here goes.

If anyone here is looking for some overseas work, I know that Areocontractors Nigeria is short now and looking for Captains.

The website is http://www.acn.aero

Ignore the ad for copilots, only Nigerian copilots are permitted, government stuff locally.

The pay is good, Nigeria sucks, and with the CHC buyout the canadian overseas tax credit will now be available.

Helo Teacher, as a favor for someone who might be interested, what kind of dollars might we be talking about, any ideas ?? Any info would help !

AAhhh ....

N.W. Africa... we always argued over which was the deepest sh.t hole on the Continent, Lagos Nigeria or Luanda Angola.....

If you do go over the experience is worth it...and maybe you will get to see the country just west of there in Benin, quite beautiful in its strange way...

Helo Teacher, I too am curious as to what kind of numbers we are talking about here. Perhaps you could PM me with some more info as to pay, tours etc. Thanks

It varies, the neighbourhood of Euro51,000 per annum, plus benefits like pension, etc.

Sched 6weeks/6 weeks.

Bristow's is short too and I'm not sure of their info.

I think Lagos is probably the bigger s$ithole, but I'm only 2nd hand familiar with Luanda. The key for this kind of work is to realize where you are and make the best of it. The time off is great.

If you want to convert money here is the web site.

Africa is addictive.......

Also for those of you who are mercenarys at heart just go further west along the African Gold Coast and you can live a real exciting life...with good pay.

Sadly I have learned to late in life that what I was taught about being honest and having respect for so called right and wrong was maybe not such good advice...

Hey Heloteacher,

Is there absolutely no way they`d take on a non national as a cojo? Is there an abundance of locals with ICAO CPL/IR?

Cheers

Be careful here, boys and girls........

Remember, this is Africa, and some of the food on those offshore rigs can be pretty spicy !!!!!

For the FO positions its not about availability, its about government quotas. There is a limit to the number of ex-pats, so they will not fill them with copilots and lose a captain. Just the way it works here. Again, Bristow's may have more flexibility.

Whew!!! That't the most serious blue angle I've ever seen. Brings to mind a saying of my Grandpa's "don't light the match until your sure which end of the dog's barkin" If anyone knows what this means please let me know. 😛
