Oklahoma and Satan

By the way, you still have not answered my question. Do you believe the Satanic (and any other group) group should be allowed to place their monument or should the 10 commandments be removed?

Why bother answering stupid questions?

A false dilemma: a type of informal fallacy that involves a situation in which limited alternatives are considered, when in fact there is at least one additional option.

Do comment pages work the other way? Do you think you could find any comment pages dwelling on Obamas race, Liebermans religion, Franks sexual orientation.... Do they speak for everyone or do they just speak for them selves?

I believe the people who want to erect a monument to Satan are nothing more than Libtard Atheist, doing whatever they can to inhibit Christianity !
And why is a "New York" based satanic group concerned with placing a monument in OK?
Maybe you'd stand a better chance of erecting this monument if you get a City Council member elected who follows the way of Satan and states that on his campaign trail!

Are they expressly trying to inhibit Christianity, or are they simply looking to have equal treatment enforced?

Also, (honest) question for you Lilo, Trader, & Co.: if this was a secular group pushing to erect a monument, would you be as opposed as you are to this plan?

Fine, broaden the question out. What do you think should happen?

I am not aware of any law that restricts equality based on political affiliation. How does erecting a monument (of any kind) inhibit any religion?

I'd say they are doing a four year old 'oh yeah, I'll show you'.....

I think they are just seeking a free 15 minutes of publicity

nothing annoys me more than some jackleg pushing their religious views or lack there of on me. Just keep your mouth shut and you'll be fine and so will I.

OK. That is quite likely but is that a legal reason to deny them equal rights? When the KKK wanted to march in Skokie they were just looking for publicity. Do we use that as a litmus test of whether they are allowed to do something or not?

Seem that ship sailed when the State Senate passed a law allowing a religious monument to be placed on public land. As the guy from the Satanic group said, the door was opened up so why should they not be allowed to walk in?

Equal rights is equal rights. Either it applies to everyone or no one. I'm the last person to be a fan of the KKK marching in Skokie but I believe they deserved the right to do so.

The freedoms we enjoy come at a cost. We must protect the rights of those we despise the most in order to protect our own rights. That is the way it works.
