I'd be far more likely to vote for the guy, not because of his beliefs but for having the balls to publish them. I'm so tired of viewpoints based on opinion polls. This guy might be a twit but he's at least true to himself and you know what? Hillary, Barack, Christie Romney and the rest can't say that. Not with a straight face.

The statements in question were made last summer, possibly before he was running for office.  The real test as to whether or not he's true to his beliefs is what he does next; he can either stand by them or distance himself by going the ol' "taken out of context" route.
 
This guy is proof that as far as a lot of state elections go, any buffoon in business attire and some spare cash can make a big splash, and even win a seat.  Could be he's honest, could be he doesn't have a clue what he's doing.  I would not vote for him under any circumstances because I do not support candidates who think that bronze-age superstitions should be given precedence over rule of law and due process.

Esk is in a 5-way GOP primary for a state House district. Given the bios of the other candidates, you won't be seeing his name in a run-off or the general election.

If you think his views are extreme on gays, they get even better -- he also wants to eliminate no-fault divorce, after having gone thru one himself (and it's not too difficult to see why someone might have left him with the kids...).

That's right because Christians don't stone gays. They let them deal with their maker and let him decide their fate.

Politicians, much like yourself, are human and prone to do or say stupid things. Can we cast stones? KEEP GOD OUT OF POLITICS OR FACE THE DOUBLE EDGE SWORD!

Separate Church and State by not bringing religious zealots into the political process. Your Government is not God.
