Why do AMT's work overtime? What would happen if we all stopped?

They will walk over each other to work overtime at AA. I will not and have not since they raped us in 2003. Also no field trips till double time comes back. Why leave the station and work in the severe hot or cold for the same money you can make at your home base??
It is also very insulting that when we work overtime at time and a half we re still making less than UPS mechanics make on strait time.
STICK O.T. UP YOUR ASS AA!! Leave it broke and go home........................................spend quality time with your family!! 😉 😉 😀 😀

That's just what I thought 2 polar opposite views. So what would happen if the focus city's took on this project?

Are you people flipping kidding me? I see it everyday!!! You are complaining about working overtime at the easiest job you have or will ever have. the majority of you sit on your laptops most of the day and are actually go work on an aircraft for 2-3 hours. Some of you run your own businesses while on AA's time clock!!! If you had to or you ever worked in the real world of aviation you would know what real work is like!!! Take a look around you and see what other airline mechanics are doing that are non unionized and talk too them if you have the guts!!! I have been there and slaving away for a 20 hr or more shift is something most of you couldnt do. If the public knew qhat goes on there at "the best airline" in the world (VOMIT) they would be furious at the way you act!!!! Go ahead stop working the OT, why should you guys make $100, 000 plus a year to do nothing? I cannot believe the immaturity that goes on there. Why dont we ask the real world how they feel about what overtime means? Especially all those people that dont have a job and all those soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines fighting overseas, do you think they are getting overtime? Why dont you ask their families standing on the ramp as there coffin is being unloaded from a cargo bin. So cry babies cry I hope you get some satisfaction and sleep really well at night , oh and I hope AA lasts forever so you can do what you do best, afterall we are AMERICANS right supposedly the best of the best.....TOO BAD FOR US if you are our kids role models. AA did screw up, I will admit, they should have declared bankruptcy and disolved our precious contracts completely then maybe the airline would be doing better and you know what.......who am I kidding, most of you are hopeless whiny brats. I am glad too say not all of us are like this but the majority is and make us all look like....well you know what.

Well that's a mouthful. I guess I should not even ask you Mr. plane mech if you are willing to strike, it seems to me that you already think we babies are overpaid. But I would like to ask you is what more are you willing to give up so you can hold on to this job?

You say UPS make more than you but UPS mechanics work the 8 or 10 hours they are scheduled, on airplanes not watching TV's or playing/doing business on their laptops. You are not overpaid if you actually did your job!!! To be able to provide housing, food and necessary items for my families surviaval I would give whatever it takes because in the end that is what is important. My personal gain of how many boats or cars or how big my home is contributes to nothing as long as I can take care of my family and do an honest job for whatever I work for!! If I dont like it I can always quit and go work as acontractor but my choice is to stay and do my job honestly for my paycheck. That is something our fathers and their fathers did before and it worked pretty well for them. You can defend yourself anyway you think is right but reality is most people do work at jobs, not just put in time, for the money they are paid.

Something don't smell right here? Marlene, is that you?

Thanks Chris. Sounds like Mr plane mech is more than willing to give up anything to keep his dream job. Some people should come out on the line and work live A/C's and sign there name in the logbooks on a daily basis. We have all worked very hard to get where we are it is not the workers fault that Management chooses to run the airline inefficiently. I for one am more than willing to work 8 hours for pay commensurate with our responsibilty.

Tell us how you really feel?

"AA Management pays me just enough not to quit AA and I do just enough work not to get fired from AA."

Hey G, What do you consider adequate pay for 8 hours of responsibility?
Also, how do you figure WE have been working very hard to get where WE are? WE have been going backwards for 8 years! Since it's managements fault, are you suggesting we help them out by taking the next concessionary TA?
