More interesting, why is AA listed as a client? Are they doing line maintenance in PVG or PEK?

And, this relates to us in the United States, how? A 3 year old link to an article about Australian aviation is a big jump to saying that U.S. airlines using foreign repair facilities are experiencing the same repair quality. May very well be, but this article is proof of nothing.
<_<

And like some people don't do "drive - around" 5 minute A checks...

The answer is AA has been doing these deals for years.... They do what they can get away with, that's why we are in bankruptcy.. Only if they are caught they pay up... The simple fact management could never be trusted doomed the airline. Integrity goes along way. Just sucks that AMR had none.

As I posted on another thread, I beg to differ.

Over the past decade, American's management, often known for combative labor relationships with its pilots, forged some unusually close bonds with the union representing mechanics. As a way to increase productivity, the company went to unusual lengths to get union sign-offs for schedule and procedural changes on the hangar floor. Labor-management teams drafted collaborative work plans, joint budgets and in some cases, union officials even had what amounted to a veto over certain personnel decisions.

The most important aspect of offshore aircraft overhaul is JOBS and MONEY to be earned in the USA if only we had friends in Congress and the White House.

"There oughta be a law".... mandating domestic overhaul of U.S. registered passenger aircraft.

I blame BOTH sides of the aisle in Congress for destroying this vital domestic industry.

You can thank Ronald Reagan and Elizabeth Dole, they changed the FARs to permit domestic aircraft to be overhauled anywhere in the world.

I'm going to laugh like hell when China decides to take Aircraft from American Carriers. What's Washington gonna do? Nothing

Followed by Clinton who did nothing to stop it and now Obama...
