Any comments? Is it another version of Terribles? Is this a step up, down or sideways?

If you mean Palace Station "Resort" and Casino in Las Vegas...it's adequate. It won't make you forget Bellagio. It's not on the strip. IIRC, it's across the freeway from most of the Las Vegas action, and not exactly walking distance. It's been a few years since we (AA) stayed there, but I think there's a couple pretty good restaurants--like a Carraba's Italian--walking distance from the hotel. We also stayed at Palace Station's "sister" resort--I think it was called Sunset Station. It's way out in a suburb of Las Vegas. Again, adequate.

They don't seem to take safety all that seriously. I walked through the Palace Station casino one day and saw several elderly people in wheelchairs in front of slot machines who never put their cigarette down except to take a hit off their oxygen tank sitting next to them!!!!

I'm looking forward to a few crew reviews. Tripadvisor listed it at #91 vs. #84 for Terribles. I really didn't like Terribles, except the pool was OK and it was close to UNLV for running. I kind of question the rankings though as a La Quinta comes in at around #6!

Big step up on the facility. Clean, quiet rooms with nice TV’s and lots of channels. Step down on location. You are taking a cab if you are going anywhere other than around the hotel. That “Station” franchise has 4 or 5 other hotels in Vegas, wish we could have gotten one a little closer..to anything.

Food at the buffet was as bad or worse as Terribles and a little more expensive even with the employee discount. They give you a buy one get one free beer coupon that actually works with no strings.
There are a number of regular restaurants in the hotel, I am going to try one of those next time.

Of course there is smoking, but the ventilation is adequate enough you can walk through the casino and not get smoked out.

I give it a thumbs up, but only because I hated Terribles so much. That is what is has come to here at “Grande’,” incremental change at best.

I forgot to add that you will get the distinct impression that Palace Station is a favorite among the Ma and Pa Kettle-type visitors to Las Vegas. "There ain't no need to pay them high prices on the strip when we got us a casino and a all-yew-kin-eat buffet right here for a lot less money." The beautiful people do not stay at the Palace Station.

As far as TripAdvisor rankings...I've never been to the LV La Quinta, but some of them are nice and well-maintained. It's one of my pet peeves these days that expensive hotels like Hilton and Sheraton charge you $10/day or more for Internet access in your room (and you have to come down to the lobby to get free access), and the Motel 6's and La Quinta's of the world provide free WI-FI throughout the facility. However, I get the distinct impression that on TripAdvisor, the price of the accomodations affects the ranking of the overall quality--the lower the price, the higher the ranking.

I agree. The old happiness=reality/expectations. We stayed at a LaQuinta for a long time in Las and I was happy with it, it was much better than Terrible's and our west crews continued to stay there. I wonder if they moved to Palace Station?

Why? You pointed out why. We're happy there and no one complains. You guys hated T's and complained so you were moved. LaQ didn't have enough rooms for the east so they moved you elsewhere.

I guess I won't be seeing any Easties at the LaQ free breakfast anymore. LOA93 must be hurting enough that some would make the effort to get the eggs and cereal. I actually sat with east guys a few times during breakfast. I mostly talked and they mostly listened. They did ask good questions.

I'm pretty sure they run a shuttle to Las Vegas Blvd.

NOOOO! You're kidding, right?
No, no Pi. It's true. That had question after question in regard to what USAPA was putting out and what was actually happening. I had my laptop with me so I was able to show them quite a bit of stuff they had not seen.

Not much they could say after that.

After one talk they actually shook my hand and left to go back to T's. Amazing what facts can do to an eastie.

Zoom...............right over his head! The Noooo was sarcasm(how's that bb?) about you doing all the talking. I'm not surprised that an east pilot could listen, I've listened and agreed with quite a few westies, but I'm guessing they agreed with you to get away and make sure you didn't follow them down the road.

Zoom, my no no was in sarcasm as well.

Focus Pi, focus.

And no Pi, they were actually nice guys. The FO regularly emails me with whatever questions he may have.

Let's drop this. It's way off topic and just more of the crap on most other threads. Ok?
