Not really. It just means that Dynamic's owners/investors happen to also own a couple 767-200's, and flying them is marginally better than having them sit idle.

That's the case with the aircraft that burned up yesterday -- it was owned by one of Dynamic's principals. It used to fly at MaxJet, and was fondly known as Christine...

Rumor has it Kalitta did the overhauls here in the US.

It looks like the evacuation began as the pilots were completing their engine fire/evac checklist.

I am quite sure that no airlines emergency checklist has an evacuation starting prior to engine shutdowns.

The right engine was shutdown about 35 seconds into the evacuation sequence. This video will be used in many training sessions for years to come.
