I knew this would happen sooner or later. It just happened some what sooner than I figured, rather than later. The GOP is a fractured party(being pulled in what was finally TOO many directions.)

The addition of the Tea Party became the STRAW that broke the camels back. (Not that it was the tea partys demands that caused Robertson to yell STOP, but a combinations of everything. Personally I view the Evangelicals as the most potentially destructive to SINK the party in 12', but think how hard it would be for ol' Pat Robertson to SAY that. I give the ol' boy credit for being the FIRST to identify REALITY though.

Think even further....that....if they lose in 12' to a Very weak Incumbent Dem, with the economy as it is, what that says about them and some of thier ideology's . The MOST pragmatic of all of the GOP candidates is Huntsman,and to a lesser extent Paul, but of course the TOP GOP DOGS want nothing to do with either of them.

Seems I remember a phrase somewhere that you'll REAP what you SOW !

Ah, but did the visit elicit any favorable words from Mr. Trump? I don't remember seeing any headlines that said that the Donald was endorsing Perry. It only seems to have moved Perry to pick up the birther torch that had been thrown to the side of the road. Well, that and looking foolish for seeking the endorsement of someone who is a joke even within the GOP these days. Mistake, Ricky!

Don't underestimate Pat Robertson's reach among evangelicals. He is on every day and has been for years..

Compared to a Ron Paul or Michele Bachman whose limited exposure is further limited by campaign cycles.

I would rather him be sent back here to TX to minimize the damage he can do than sent tothe WH where he can screw up the entire country.

I have been arguing for quite some time that the fringe is not where elections are won. They are won in tbe center.

The RNC screwed up when they invited the lime of Falwell And Roberts into their ranks. Roberts may not have a large political voice but I think he has more power behind the scene than Trump does.

When Roberts comes out and tells people with his POV to STFU people out to take notice.

That font of all-wisdom, Ann Coulter, was stating at that very moment that the Herman Cain sexual harassment leak could be laid at the feet of the liberal, mainstream media..
