Guys That is a prime example of how the freedom of speech is taken away. I hope phl keeps trying to make PHL a better place because the company and the IAM won't! I know you were telling the truth Phl and I can only hope you continue to be that way.
 
Freedom of speech is only meant that the govt cant restrict your speech.

The company watches this board, I know of two examples of them calling in people and one of the person's posts were used to fire him.

I might differ with your opinions, but I dont want to see anyone get in trouble and there been cases by AA, NW and UA who sued the webmaster of the mechanic.com to get his hard drives and info about the posters.

He should send them to the paper.
 
700 I accept your view but that doesn't mean I agree. I think that a lot of lawyers would love to deal with an issue like this. I don't want anyone to get in trouble but anything worth having is not gotten without risk. It basically is up to the person and how far they will push to get it taken care of. If the IAM unified the group they could force the company to take care of a lot of the problems on the property but they are too busy trying to get the company to give them things instead of doing what is right for the group! If I were an AGC I would give the company one week to get the area some what in order, if not we don't work in that area. I personally have done this and so have some of the shop stewards that worked with me! Don’t try to sell me on we can't do that because that is why the Unions were developed for to make safer working conditions. Get busy IAM and do what we pay you for!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know you [700] will give me some lame excuse as to why the IAM can't do this. That is why we must get rid of them. They always have an excuse as to why they can't do certain things!
 
Whatever happened to the new break room for flight crews in PHL? Were we supposed to move into it this fall? Last time I looked, the area is currently used for storage. Wasn't it to open this fall? I guess it's more empty promises, but Doug and management will give themselves nice bonuses and then claim we don't have the money.

For those who are interested. Article 25 of our CBA. Safety and Health
"The comapny hereby agrees to maintain safe, sanitary and healthful conditions in all facilities and to maintain at all times a registered first aid station to take care of its employees in case of accident or illness."
That is just the firts section of Article 25. PHL, please show this to your shop stewards, commite chairs, and your AGC's and see what happens. My bet is nothing, but it is worth a try.
 
Hard to believe that we work for a multi-million dollar corporation that subjects its employees to such squalor. :down:

The pictures you posted clearly show where we rank in the eyes of our corporate executives. I think passing these pictures along to "other" outside sources is not such a bad idea.

Since the union represents you, if they don't ak for a change, management is doing what you want by doing nothing to improve it.

It is quite probable that the break rooms in A, B, and C are as you say, however, NONE of the breakrooms in F are in this condition. I was in PHL from 1/07 to 7/07 as a guest of Piedmont, and I did not see the conditions of which you speak.
 
My favorite was a few years ago when Testa was the Aviation Director. He was so embaressed by the public bathrooms he had hot line phones installed to the janitoial department. A few weeks later Testa was kicked out becuase he was pickin on the mayors bro.
