Long before the right wing on a Chalk's seaplane snapped off, pilots were increasingly worried about what they felt was poor maintenance.

Three of the company's six captains resigned, one saying there was "blatant neglect." Other pilots also claimed mechanical woes were repeatedly ignored, according to a National Transportation Safety Board report released Thursday.

Grady Washatka, one of the pilots who quit, said in his resignation letter the company blatantly neglected corrosion, cracks, engine malfunctions and weight and balance problems.

"We love this company and we are trying to avoid the inevitable disaster that will ensue if these issues are not addressed," he wrote in January 2005, less than a year before the crash.story here

So very sad and scary. I do commend the pilots who quit over the "alleged" problems. It takes a lot of personal fortitude to do that. just my thoughts........
