U.S. Chamber gives Pa. 'poor' rating for employment policies
Another highly Democrat state.
The Chamber cited among Pennsylvania's biggest shortcomings that the state has a high level of private sector union penetration, a high number of employment-related lawsuits and a prevailing wage requirement for state-contracted work. The state also was deemed "poor" for providing generous workers' compensation benefits and because strikers and locked-out workers are eligible for unemployment benefits.
