What's new

Q300/400 for PDT

Last article I read on this A/C was that 26 passengers was the break even point, @ $55.00 dollar fares an airline could make a 26% profile. I think CO has already ordered some of these A/C. I have experienced the RJ in and out of Montreal not good for NON-REV's the station personnel at YUL said they have requested larger A/C for sometime but they only get a 737 in the summer months. Last AW flight that I took to YUL the FA was about the RUDEST person I have ever encountered on a flight, even her safety announcements were rude, several other passengers were commenting on the LONG walk to Customs in YUL.

No, US is trying to trade in old Dash 8's for new ones. And it's a good idea!

They have a standing order for 50 seat rj's they are trying to get out of, by ordering Dash's they think they can get out of it.

Actually the plan was to exchange the 50 seat orders for 70 and 90 seaters, which may or may not happen.

Either way good news about the new Dash's--they are markedly better than the old ones. I have flown on one of the Q200's before they let them go--and the Cabin Noise Reduction system works!

Mainline carrier U.S. Airways is negotiating with Bombardier Inc. to replace more than 80 smaller older-generation DASH-8 turboprop airliners flown by commuter affiliate Piedmont Airlines with the new Q-300 and Q-400 turboprops carrying up to 70 passengers. Piedmont services the Eastern U.S. and the latest Bombardier turboprops, built at Downsview, Toronto, are quieter and faster besides carrying more passengers.

I think someone is a little behind the times. 🙁

Seens that the PSA group may be getting back what they deserve, finally.

Who was first to cave in to the J4J extortion?
