Question for Heli-Ops

Looking at this months helicopter and must admit a KN-4 is a mystery whats the history of this bird??

You must need glasses - its a KH-4 and that is a Kawasaki built version of the Bell 47J. A lot of them are operated in Australia.

I do wear glasses, and I have done my time on 47''s the 47J cabin with the 47G4/5 tail section had me wondering if a hybrid had been born.
What does it use for an engine? Piston, or is there also a tubine converson?

The KH-4 is a piston but there are a few soloy conversions out there from what I understand. McDermott Aviation in Queensland has a couple of them that they are using on Ag work.
