Question for Tulsa folks!

I would like to know the feelings of those working in TULSA regarding the upcoming management bonuses?

Next week, we have the privilege of having our medical costs increased along with a whopping $.46 an hour increase in April.

How do you folks feel about management sharing in a few hundred million in bonuses while they do not share in the sacrifice?

I don't live in Tulsa, but if I did, I would be aware that AA was probably the best I could do. So, maybe I would indeed feel lucky to have a job there. The economy and prevailing wages in the community were major factors in AA setting up shop in Tulsa. That and the judges.

If TUL were a new operation, perhaps I'd agree with you, but TUL is a freak of geography, much like St. Joseph's, MO was for being the cargo hub for AA in the 40's. They were more or less in the center of what was AA's route system at the time. TUL was also a lot more important in the 30's and 40's than it is today.

Granted, the economy keeps AA there today as opposed to setting up shop somewhere else like Mexico.

No, as a city... Prior to the 70's, it was still the Oil Capitol of the US. What hadn't moved to Houston in the 70's pretty much died in the 1980's.
