"The more conservative the better."...? The founding fathers of America would hardly agree with that. Both contemporary political parties/gigantic-multi-billion-dollar-machines, are largely producing just bought-and-paid for hacks to put "representative" faces on the toxic BS they wish to shove down the citizenry's throats. Show me some people that actually embrace American ideals, instead of just being operatives for much larger money, and I'll then smile. Even with this last election; I'll guess the number of such to be easilly countable on two hands in Washington, with digits left spare. All I'll reasonably hope for with this latest is to see a government too busy with internecine infighting for power and money to mess with individuals' Rights as much as has recently been the case.
The admittedly bright light here's that whatever's left of "The American People" seem to have woken up a tiny bit from their wholesale stupor, in that the most utterly corrupt and wholly dishonest adminstration in at least a century, if not ever, has been challenged.
"...meet the new Majority leader, Mitch McConnell." Whoopty-do! Pardon me if I can somehow contain my excitement at yet another, worthless, smarmy lawyer gaining more personal power:
"McConnell graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he was president of the Student Bar Association. McConnell enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve at Louisville, Kentucky during his last year of law school." The USA was at war at that time, just sayin'. "He did six months active service at Fort Knox"..known to be a high-threat combat zone, of course, "thereafter serving the active reserve.[8] He received an early discharge for optic neuritis."...And yet...he doesn't seem to have gone at all blind to this very day, while no small number of glasses-wearing 2nd LT's then somehow managed to successfully lead platoons in battle, too often at the cost of their lives...?
