:unsure: Just got word from Comair lead that the start pay in most cities for RHS will be between 8.50-8.75 hr. I do not think that is too much lower than what XJ and OH start pay is now, but really....you could mindlessly flip burgers for that kind of money and probably not have to get up at 3am.

RHS= "Regional Handling Services."

DL has combined the ground operations of Mesaba, Comair, and Compass (though CP doesn't have any ground employees), under one roof.

When this was first announced, it was noted that current employees would maintain whatever pay rate they currently have, but that new hires would be subject to a lower rate.

The #1 reason why people have worked for those rates were the flight benefits. They have now reduced those as well. I think RHS will have a hard time filling their openings with quality people.

I predict HPGUY is right.

Sure, some'll show up. You might even get lucky and find a good worker or two out of the pool, but the majority will either wash out as soon as they find out that aviation is a 24/7 gig, or be glued to the computer checking wait lists for their next trip. Few if any will be viable long term.

... And that's not even counting the potential applicants that skip right over the ad and go to the Target one. I know it's hard for you to believe that someone would choose another company over the Delta Family, but trust me; it happens.

In what way have the flight benefits been reduced? A former co-worker and friend is interviewing with Comair this week for a customer service position at a regional airport where Mesaba and Comair recently combined stations. He was doing it strictly for the flight benefits. What has changed? Would they reduce flight benefits for employees of a wholly owned company? What gives??

Does anyone have any info on how "RHS" (Comair's) flight benefits will be reduced? According to an earlier post someone stated that the "RHS" flight benefits have been reduced. How? Thanks!!!!!!!

My guess would be that it's a nod to the fact that Comair employees used to fly at the same priority as M/L employees (on M/L flights), and no longer do....

One of the Benifits that will be taken away for new hires is, The 6 yearly buddy passes will no be availiable in travelnet until the employee has put in one year of service. Also, as of late June all RHS/Comair employess will not be able to use S2 for travel on DL Mainline. S2s will only be allowed on Comair flights. There are some other details on a Memo taht was posted on DeltaNet.......
