Rio gets Olympics

You assume US will still a.) be in operation in 2016 or b.) still be flying that route. And, big deal. It's a great South American route regardless of whether the Olympics were going there or not.

Tokyo nor Chicago was any competition at all to Madrid. Río was the only competition and Madrid had by far the best qualifications to host the olympics. The two reasons Madrid did not win:


A) London has 2012, and other European cities want 2020, and Madrid wanted 2016. Imagine the outrage of Americans, Africans, and Asians if Europe had London 2012, Madrid 2016, and Paris 2020.


B ) Rí­o is the first city to host the olympics in South America.
