Saving The Airline, $100.00 at a Time

Jet Blue had a part that matched. Tempe declined the offer and opted to wait for the part from CLT, hence a 3 hour delay. Blatent ineptitude and a large loss of revenue and goodwill.

but we are still...

What difference does it make???? It was a no go item. Jet Blue had it on the field and was willing to loan us a part. I believe the $100.00 was a daily charge by Jet Blue until we replaced the part to their stores. Our part was enroute (AOG) from CLT. It was either the left wing or the captain's seat, I can't remember. You are missing the point. The relevance is that some moron made a stupid decision not to make the swap and minimize the impact the maintenance delay had on that aircraft and the 150 passengers on board!

Another brilliant move this week from maint, not related to this particular flight. Flight in TPA at 830am has maint. Part found in MCO. Drive the part to TPA? Nope, fly it to CLT then back to TPA. Instead of having it in an hour and a half drive time we have a 4 hour MCO-CLT-TPA fly time (thankfully it made it). Busted ALL conx and flight ended up flying to CLT empty since we got everyone out on other flights by the fix time of 1pm.
