Hello,

I would like to fly to Miami from a European city. The journey takes 1 stop in New York. However there is more than 15 hours before the second fly.

May / Should I leave the airport and have a city-sightseeing in New York as I have to wait 15 hours? If so, what can I do with the baggages?

Thanks,

Mac

That is a terrible layover. I would definitely take the time and look around. Your bags should check through, but that isnt my area of expertise. Im sure someone else here will know the answer to that one.

Thanks, DAL Mech.

Anyone else, please? 🙂

Look for a better connection (Ft Lauderdale or Palm Beach maybe) or if you really want to see NYC, fly in the day before and stay at an airport hotel.
1. Your bags will be with you (15 hrs is a long time for your bags to be floating around any NYC airport  )
2. If you leave the terminal and for whatever reason you get back in late and there is a long line to get through security and you miss your flight then you will be charged a change fee.
3. Buy a day pass for the Delta Airlines club and read a good book.
