Unless The Hub is being screwy or the company wants to discourage Buddy Pass riders to TLV

Base Fare
$4,624.00

Taxes
$78.90

Total
$4,702.90

Count YVINTERN out until he gets employed with a real airline and goes there on a real carrier instead of a buddy pass which has crappy SA7 priority anyways and we aren't going to operate this flight with all the tension over there with the Hamas, Gaza, Israelites, and Lebanese.

Oops....sounds like a technical error.

Since we're on the subject of buddy passes...has anybody heard if the company is thinking of reverting back to the original fares that were one half the current fares? With fuel prices as low as they are, it would seem logical.

You read my mind...I just asked a friend of mine in Corporate and he informed me that they were not planning to revert the pricing back since domestically we were "in line" with other Airlines but I informed him that we were actually not "in line" internationally.

The buddy pass fares showing online are not what you pay at the airport. That is why it states to ignore the fare and you will be advised at the ATO of the fare. Computer issue, go figure.

Who the frigg would want to go to TLV at this point anyway? Too dangerous, in my opinion, with all the conflict going on over there.

Did you list first class? If you do that the fares are always wacked....

I was looking at buddy passes from CLT-CDG (new non-stop in May) and it came out to $505.30. So US is charging $400 plus the $105.30 taxes = $505.30. Yikes. For just a little more, you can have a revenue ticket. Why would anyone pay this ridiculous amount? I'm not surprised at all about the TLV buddy pass fare. Of course, I don't know why anyone would want to go there with the way things are nowadays.

The conflict has heated up for sure, but it's not new. I would even be willing to bet that security was among the highest considerations when establishing this new route.

Think about it...summer time the tickets usually go for $1,100-$2,000 for our Transatlantic bread and butter routes 😉 It would be a hell of a deal but in the winters...it's crap...

As for TLV...I wouldn't go there with the tensions high and with what happened in Mumbai with the Airline Crews and that Hotel...If I went I'd hire two body guards probably.

Security on the aircraft is very different from safety upon exiting Ben Gurion airport. I have no qualms whatsoever about safety on any aircraft flying to and from TLV. It is probably the safest airport in the world.

I only hope and pray for the sake of all Israeli citizens and citizens of Gaza that this conflict ends sooner rather than later.

Me too I think about them every night I go to bed, why can't we all co-exist in peace 🙁

Yes buddy pass prices are wacked. It's cheaper to fly LAS-HNL on US or AA positive space then on a US buddy pass.

The guest pass prices are a joke. With advance purchase on Southwest you can fly $50-100 one way which include FREE check bags, drinks, and most importantly a positive CONFIRMED seat! That is about the same price as a guest pass and you get none of the above.

My friends that ask me for guest passes I tell not to even bother with them. US flights are always oversold anyway and my friends would turn into enemies real quick with having to try and fly SA7P on the oversold flights from PHL to PHX ect.

They sure are a joke! I don't offer buddy passes to my friends/family. They ask and the answer is always NO. It's not worth the hassle and I don't need any enemies.
