What's new

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words.

I got this same pic sent and tried to post it but its format wasn't suppoerted....good show Local 12

And sending over 3,800 soldiers to their death is patriotic? Patriotism in based on deeds, and actions. Not having a flag on your lapel or putting your hand on your chest is about as helpful as those stupid yellow ribbons.

That story is a few weeks old and it still has not traction. No one cares.

Gee, I wonder if a bunch of people will use this to make a big deal out of nothing.

🙄

In the mean time, I'll go back to concerning myself with things that actually matter.

I take it you are referring to Bill Clinton's dead American boy count?

Oh you mean those serious sorts of things that matter like this.....?

As a Jew, I sure as hell get irritated when people wish me "Merry Christmas." Who are they to assume I'm a Christian? Who are they to assume everyone's a Christian? I'm sure if I were Christian, I'd feel exactly the same way. Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot.

I would say religious freedom and the separation of 'church and state' are not trivial issues. Whether or not someone puts their hand of their heart during the pledge is right up there in importance with his choice of boxers/briefs or commando.

The more relevant issues are why did we have an AG who lied and broke the law, why did we have a SecDef who was incompetent and reviled by a huge population of the people he commanded, why did we have a VP with a Aid who is a convicted felon.

The Obama thing happened in Sep. The people obviously do not care. It hardly made a blip on the radar so go ahead and trot out useless issue like that. The Dems will love you for it.

Ok, I understand how (to you) this seems hypocritical. But there is a distinction that I think you are glossing over to make a point. One involves my faith, which is very personal to me. The other is a ridiculous non-issue small mistake that didn't cost any lives, but will undoubtedly be used by Barack's enemies to become much ado about nothing. When Obama makes a mistake that results in the loss of American lives, then maybe you could make a valid argument.

I mean, come on. How silly to question his patriotism? He is running for President of the United States. That's about as patriotic as you can get.

Obama needs to clean house with his campaign staff. All he is accomplishing with this flag pin issue is wasting time, time that he does not have.

The only ones making a big deal of it (ot at least they are trying too) are the conservatives like Oreilly and Limbaugh. The liberals who will vote for him do not watch it and they could care less about the patriotism BS. Given that he has raised over $80 which is 2 or 3 times more than any conservative has raised, I don't think he is too worried about the petty stuff.

Exactly. The people who this is either an issue for, i.e. the right, were probably not going to vote for him anyway. The left would probably vote for him whether or not he wore the pin. However the people he really needs are the middle of the road people who are the majority in this country. Considering his position in the polls in relation to HC he does not seem to be getting across to them. Spending time on this issue is time he's not spending on an issue that might get more of the countries middle roaders on his side.

As for the amount of money he has raised in comparison to GOP candidates it's really irrelevant at this point. Right now he is competing with the Clinton campaign machine for the democratic nomination. If he losses he will be one of those trivia questions on Jeopardy. Barrack Obama, who is the democratic candidate for the 2008 election who raised more money than all the republican candidates combined but lost the nomination for his party?

Why is it that the POTUS who claims to be patriotic and behind the troops cannot make the time in his day to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and no one make a sound but if a candidate does not put his and over his heart, the world is about to stop spinning, or so the conservatives would like to think. Seems a bit disingenuous if you ask me but what else is new.
