Since investors were not flocking to the IPO that SPIRIT offered, could this be a sign that SPIRIT is in a tailspin. This is the LCC that charges for everything. I am sure that PAX dont like all the fees they have to pay to fly with Spirit. Has the current economic condition put a huge damper on Spirit. With Southwest having purchased Airtran could this be pressure that will put Spirit in bankrupcy.

not sure it is accurate to say that NK is toast but the environment is not favorable for an IPO. Discount airlines lose some of their advantage relative to network airlines since fuel is presumably not a cost that either airline can control, WN's success in the past decade being an exception.
.
There also is more than a decent chance that WN will expand via FL its presence to the Caribbean and northern Latin America, destinations where NK has found a niche, leaving NK investors and mgmt probably more than a little focused on defining NK's future.

I don't know anything about the future. I just know that the airplanes are FULL and Spirit is making money. So, if that means the airline is "Toast" sobeit. Don't try non-reving. It's not that others are not welcome; it's that there are no seats! Even the new destinations are sold out.
