Publication in a pub - announcing it - is not the same as the official member site for "members". Adding US''s name to the * site would cause confusion as they aren''t yet members.

A reliable source said that although it was voted on earlier, there has been a change of mind and the US Air affiliation is over. Apparently the alliance was looking for a strong airline affiliation, but since U has gone to the smaller RJ setup, the * is no longer interested.

Guess we know now that your source was complete bull#### ...

In July 28, 2003 press release US is cited to officially join star during the first quarter of 2004.

I have also seen similar dates posted from UA and LH press releases.

From all of the information we have been given on the Star Alliance and membership we are still in the process of becoming a member in the 1st Q04.
US Airways has applied to the DOT for full code share from all points in our system to Lufthansa's hubs in FRA and MUC begining in the fall of this year.
