Well, that was fun...anyone else watch it?

I love that all of America has now had a chance to see how well he avoids answering the questions he's asked.

It's also nice that they've seen how snippy he can get when being called out on things. Classy...

I'm sorry I missed it.
It sure didn't help the stock as its still falling.
Or maybe enough stock holders watched it and determined they'd sell based on Steenlands remarks. 😛

Got that right...last time I looked today the stock was at a whoppong $15.99! 😱
What a disgrace!

stock was down $2.19 closed at $14.91...so why would somebody invest in NWA where the planes are more reliable than the crew??

Here's video of his interview with Meredith Viera...

Here's video of him answering viewer emails later in the program...where he basically blames everyone else for their problems and becomes rather snippy to the host...

Enjoy!
video 1....oh boo hoo I took a 20% pay reduction! We'll accept your crying when it's a 30 or 40% reduction! I'm at the bottom 10% pay scale of other fortune 500 company pay scales! Boo Hoo again! How many of those fortune 500 companies are in or just out of bankruptcy?

video 2: He sure looked a little uncomfortable there at the end! LOL I think he is aware that the public is no longer buying into his lies.

Should we take bets...I say Merideth books with someone else to SFO.

I DID see the interview on Today and feel Steenland really blew it. The Summer Travel season has been VERY CHALLENGING for ALL Airlines and certainly its customers. Working for another airline, I do travel on NWA frequently and feel that the Pilots at NWA have been used as a PUBLIC Whipping Boy for the multitude of cancellations that can be attributed to Mgmnts shortsidedness in Staffing levels after emerging from BK and attempting to grow aggressively. I have never had a bad experience flying NWA in the last several years but as an outside "Observer" I can empathize with the thousands of pax that were effected and inconvenienced by a very turbulent June/July operation. The rank and file employees had little to do with these cancellations........Steenland and his Mgmnt Team did. The Today Show could have been a gesture on Steenland's part to accept the blame for the havoc that persists at NWA and his willingness TO CHANGE the operation. Unfortunately, when the emails were read by The Today Show host he became defensive, combative and arrogant. (I felt sorry for the Host because you could see She was taken aback by his bullying remarks and felt the interview was fruitless. I can see WHY your Labor Groups gave HIM a VOTE of NO CONFIDENCE! )

Well one thing for certain is that for however long NWA employs Doug Steenland, US Airways CEO Doug Parker will never be able to win "Airline Executive #### of the Year.

What a putz!

That was the absolute worst performance by any CEO is recent memory.

He has no photogenic qualities and is devoid of any redeeming personal qualities.

I am so glad that he is the face of a scab maintainted fleet of aircraft.

Thank you Steenland for showing me the door. My life is much better. You obviously have issues.

Rat face bas##rd!

A WORD FROM DOUG

Noticed on the nwapeople web site that Steenland hasn't had "a word from Doug" since 07/27/2007!
Did he finally run out of words? He usually updates once a week.

Wow! That the second view was bad!! Snippy means you're defensive/guilty.

Steenland, "We never blamed employees"

Uh, Doug, yeah you did, and the world remembers. I'll give you some credit for advanced tap dancing, and staying on 'message', but when you lie, you're done.

Responsible answer?? "We did have some incorrect information reported in June and July, but I'm happy to report we've ....." Still tap dancing, but not a lie.

Good luck folks (employees). I enjoy serving some of your commute needs.
