sounds like he is another Lorenzo but I cant imagine that the merger will go without union support
Why are the Deal folks so confused on this? DL isn't acquiring a thing. That's why they call it a merger. Dougie and the Board are ready to deal because of the $$$. Plain and simple.So why is NW so interested in being acquired by Delta?
Actually, "merger", is the generic term used any time companies are combined - the two separate companies merge to become one. It doesn't matter whether one company buys the other (with cash or equity), newly minted stock in the combined company is issued to replace shares of both old companies, or one/both companies are in BK and new investors get shares in the new company while old investors get the shaft (like US shareholders in the US/HP merger).That's why they call it a merger.
