It is truly unfortunate that the barriers to exit the airline industry are higher than the cost to enter. It is a tough business, but by allowing inefficient - and sometimes incompetent - operations to continue to operate under bankruptcy provisions the health of the industry as a whole is weakened.
As demonstrated by the USA Today article, GE has become the "slum lord" of the airline industry. I think I'll change all my light bulbs over to Philips brand!
