When can I pop in for a ride in the left seat? (Forward left of course!!)

Okay Ill bite. What is the difference between a 332L and the 332L2? Just curious.Other than the obvious different shape of the sponsons. Its been allmost 20 years since I flew the 332L.

Thanks,

The last time she saw them, they were covered on many layers of long-johns. Brrrrr.

RH

So RH is that a keeper or is she just passin' through?

Geez why don't you guys just get S92s, you look down right sexy drivin' one of those 😀

It would take one heck of an airframe to make this fatboy look sexy. 😀

The AS332L2 is the all new glass cocpit a/c with upgraded avionics engines, etc.Without looking at the TC Type Certificate before posting this, I don't believe the L2 is certified in Canada yet because no one in Canada owns/operates one here. 🙂

And the L2 creates a lot more hearing loss type injuries... :stupid:

Apparently there is a large avionics cooling fan behind the cockpit, that creates noise in the "wrong" frequency...

ANR only makes it worse. I have an article but it is in norwegian, but we can get RDM to translate it! 😀 😀

We just ordered quite a few "Bose X" headsets, we've used them with great results on the 76 and 61 in Thailand. What does your article say?

RH

Apparently ANR creates "white noise" and this may disturb the hearing at different frequencies than non-anr headsets.

Best solution apparently is helmet with earplugs. secondbest is headset with earplugs, then headset/helmet with ANR.

Even the CEP system makes the user more prone to hearing loss, at different frequencise...

I guess it won't much matter what you do.
Apparently the worst culprit was the AS332L2. The article was written in Norway after several older Captains lost their medicals due to Tinnitus, a constant ringing in the ears.

Rotorhead,

Is the SuperPuma replacing an S-61? What is CHI flying offshore NS now? And, when will the helicopter get its Canadian register?
