Here is where my story gets interesting. There was this college age kid that had that grunge rocker look and he asked the agent if his suitcase and guitar was on the plane that had now started its taxi for take off. The agent told him yes his bag and guitar was on the plane but would be held for him until he got to MIA. This gut goes nuts, he starts demanding the plane be returned to the gate so he can get his guitar, the agent told him that was not possible and his guitar would be fine.
After a few more words this kid tells the agent "I want my guitar back now! as far as you know there could be a bomb in it". I was thinking , fella you just said the wrong thing. I was waiting for him to be tackled by the airport police at any moment. Nothing happened. The agent heard him make the statement to her but she completely ignored it. I don't know why she ignored him but she acted like he never said it. That kid has no idea what a favor that gate agent did for him that day.
I've always wondered why she didn't have him arrested and the plane returned to the gate. Maybe it was her last flight before getting off work and just didn't want the hassle.
Isn't this against FAA/DOT regulations since he was not on the plane? I believe his baggage should have been removed per the regulations.
