I was watching a show recorded on TIVO last night and was surprised to see a US television ad. I hadn't seen one since the old "USAir Begins With You" campaign.
So I rewound it to actually watch it.
It was horrible.
A black screen with white letters (looked like Arial font) flashing info about new fares out of GSO. It looked like a homemade PowerPoint presentation. All the while, some person with a badly faked Southern accent is mumbling off the list of cities to which the fares are available: "Balteeemore, Taimpa, Orlandoe, Las Veygas, Los Angeleees, New Orleeens, etc." It was like Goober was talkin' to Andy with marbles in his mouth.
Also, I've lived here 20 years, and almost never hear anyone call GSO "PTI."
I hope US Airways didn't pay some ad agency to make that spot. If they did, they were ripped off.
