They take every word litteraly. Remember most of the tea party are also cristian bible thumpers. The world was made in 6 days, its flat, and only a few thousand years old.

They heard "I Obama will command all policies to magically meet the new minimum guidance"
"I Obama say you can keep your doctor, so, no doctor is allowed to die, retire, or quit"
And thus it was said. And the people were skeptical. Who was this man, from Kenya, a muslim, from the slums of south side Chicago?
They decide he must be the new mesiah? No? Then how will he keep doctors alive?
