The 2011 Depression

Umm, you really didn't read that article did you? If you did, you would have come to a different conclusion. Your argument is missing one crucial element.

Its called "Context".

It's not only obvious that you did not read the article you also have never cracked open a history book in your life.

It's not only obvious that you did not read the article you also have never cracked open a history book in your life.
If you want your argument to stand, then you need to speak to the CONTEXT that was referred to in the article. You are simply making a ridiculous random argument like "we cant be like them cause they eat Shchi and we dont!

Truly embarrassing.

Now George Celente is comparing us to the USSR. What's next, Nazi Germany?

http://finance.yahoo.com/tech-ticker/article/535351/America-Won-the-Cold-War-But-Now-Is-Turning-Into-the-USSR,-Gerald-Celente-Says

Anyone with even a basic understanding of history knows that only a fool would try and compare our situation with that of the former USSR. Along with the fact that they had an economic/political system that did not work there were many other reasons why the USSR fell apart. Reasons you do not see in the USA.

Reason one: The USSR murdered tens of millions of it's own citizens. IMHO any country that does this is doomed
to fail.

CHINA

Reason two: The USSR comprised dozens of different ethnic groups. Many of who hated each other. The only
reason it was held together for so long is the iron fisted rule of people like Lenin, Stalin, Brezhnev etc.
As soon as someone loosens the reigns it all falls apart.

CHINA

Reason three: The USSR spent vast resources to maintain a police state. Resources that could have been used
elsewhere but was used to fuel the gulag. Whose primary fuel was people.

CHINA

With that said, then why do we suck the teat of China and let them own us?

Looks like China is a good fit if you plug it in to your post...LOL

Didn't Mao up the ante on citizens killed to around 70 million?

Celente comes across as better informed, better educated, better known and vastly better compensated than some greaser from Chi-town. 😛

Never thought "cavalier" would live again---lol

Years later, several jobs later, major life changes, well I forgot this place existed until out of the blue I was invited back.

I see you're still posting Dell, that means you're still kicking and have some fire left---good for you.

I see a lot of the same names, wow is all I can think to say. This place still existing shows there is hope for the airline industry, an industry that was once the envy of every working soul and now has become just another job.

Well at least I am drawing a small retirement from it and have been since 04, that and meeting a ton of people who I still stay in touch with made the experience worth it all---what it trip it was!!

You really don't read the things he writes do you? If you did you probably would not be singing his praises.

For example, he claims to have predicted that Iraq was going to become a quagmire. Is that true dell, has Iraq become a quagmire? Not that I'm expecting an honest answer.

See above.

Thats it?

Thats your rebuttal in light of recent events?

Really?

Do you think Bush consulted Celente?

I know fact checking is not your strong suit dapoes but you might want to try it once in a while.

You talked about "context" yet don't explain what that "context" really is. It's also obvious you really have not read what Mr. Celente has said.

The USSR went bankrupt fighting the cold war and Celente fears the U.S. is "squandering its greater but still finite resources on a gargantuan defense budget, fighting unwinnable hot wars and feeding an insatiable military stationed on hundreds of bases worldwide."

What he's saying dapoes in case you have not figured it out is that our defense budget is to big. Do you agree with that statement? As for "hundreds of bases worldwide" the facts say otherwise. Since the end of the cold war the number of bases overseas has gone down considerably.

As with many observers, Celente thinks America will suffer the same fate in Afghanistan as the USSR, the British Empire, Alexander the Great and all others who've ventured into the "graveyard of empires."

Is Afghanistan a mistake dapoes? That appears what he is saying. As for Afghanistan being the "graveyard of empires" the USSR was on life support before it steped foot into Afghanistan. As for Britain despite the fact they were chased out of there the British Empire lasted almost another hundred years. Hardly the cause of their eventual downfall. Alexander the Great's empire collapsed because he died, not because of the area that is now called Afghanistan.

Like I said before, I was not expecting an honset answer from you. Once again you prove me right.

I tried to give you an honset answer.......

And now you are agreeing with Celente?

Which is it, either you agree or disagree with the man.........you can't have it both ways.

You never gave an answer. All you did was put on an extended song and dance routine to try and avoid giving a simple answer.
