The premise that Osama bin Boogey man is such a bad ass that even Mossad can't find him is laughable. Mossad could find a needle in the proverbial hay stack! Osama is nothing but a "Goldstein" staight out of Orwell's 1984! Obama Been DEAD!If there is one thing Mossad is good at is finding and killing people they deem need be eliminated. As much as I disagree with Israel, they were within their right to do what they did after Munich.
The PLO was a secular organization and was very popular, even in the European liberal/chic circles. For this reason there had to be a counter to the PLO. Enter Hamas. This radicalized fundamentalist Islamic faction was aided and abetted by the Zionist State: How Israel helped spawn Hamas. 😱 😱

I read a work of fiction written by a former special forces soldier.
A word on fiction. Properly constructed fiction has plausability going for it. If an imaginative person properly constructs a piece of fiction, that person is well versed in the subject. It is said to "write what you know", but more proper to say to"Know what you write."
The end result is a very belivable piece of fiction. And, even though the rules of logic dictates that a person not have a conclusion and go about finding the proofs that support it,when you go about building a senerio, as in developing good fiction, sometimes, you are right, in your fictionally supported conclusion.
The writer wrote that the CIA recruited persons everywhere within government employ NOT tied to the CIA. These persons interrogated terror suspects and leaders abord a Navy Ship that NEVER put into any port. When they got what they could from them, they fed them to the fishes, and NEVER,EVER let on that they have been captured. Although the noveist never wrote this, I bet a team of these secret agents that have no official ties with the CIA actually ran terrorist web sites to get target terrorists to log on so they could be misdirected and tracked.
Now on the subject of Congress looking into alleged CIA death teams. The fiction had to be waved in front of us as a people that we are investigating allegations the CIA have death teams, to put the issue at rest and hide the extent of the entire operation on just how we are controlling terrorist activities to prevent another 911, which is just fine by me.
Let them continue with their work.

I would not in any way disparage our special force operatives and compare them to another agency......The question as to Mossad being the best is based on what?
Our assets are more capable than you could imagine....and they routinely train with other groups such as Mossad in the interest of operational flexibility.
How good any group of this level whether here or Israel is highly classified.

Not saying our Spec Ops are bad just that Israel is better. Better by sheer volume of ops. They have been at 'war' for 60 yrs. They have far more active experience than any other ops team I would guess.
If I had to choose one to save my butt, I'll take Mosad over any one out there anyday of the week.
Do tell of the volumes out there on US ops...................

I thought Mossad was the Israeli version of the CIA ... spooks with the added task of being a hit squad when they find what/who they are looking for. I was under the impression that Israel just combined it into one agency where as CIA will whack someone if need be but will leave it up to the spec ops if it's a dirty op such as a halo dive, or extraction or something which requires more technical expertise.

Yes Mossad is the Israeli version of the CIA. They're just better at human intelligence and are not afraid to get their hands dirty.
US military special operations has nothing to do with what the CIA does. The CIA has no control over what US Special Forces do.
