I expect a lot of U transcon will be headed to UA codeshare.

At U, there is a noticeable increase in bag going to DEN, SEA and PHX on UA bag tags.

While increasing stage length should reduce CASM, there is little evidence that it would maintain or increase RASM. That's not to say that it couldn't or wouldn't...just that it doesn't have to, and therefore might not.

Ahhhh, but the trick is to have RASM above CASM, not necessarily increase (or even maintain) RASM. This is something that U has been unseccessful at accomplishing, even with the high walk-up fares. Conversely, it is something that WN has been very successful at, even with reasonable top fares. Which leads to Art of Isp's favorite subject....
