Therefore, is it better for the unions and management to reach voluntary concession accords before the US Airways board meeting the first week of December, to be included in the final Plan of Reorganization (POR) due to the court on December 9, or risk having the pension plans terminated?[BR][/SPAN][SPAN style=FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA][BR]Chip [SPAN style=mso-spacerun: yes][/SPAN][/SPAN][/P]

Personally, I think a 401(k) is much better than this whole pension deal anyway. This lets me invest my own money, and earn my own return. While the stock market has been in a funk lately (save a strong rally since October), the rolling averages of the market are widely known, and everyone would be much better off. For the most part, standard pension plans are as broken as social security, which I do not plan on being able to cash out when I retire wither.

The [A onmouseover=status = 'The Stockholm Syndrome'; return true; title=The Stockholm Syndrome href=http://www.sniggle.net/redirect.php?u_referrer=/stock.php&u_target=http://web.archive.org/web/20020203070613/http://www.pt7.com/public/articles/stockholm.htm]Stockholm Syndrome[/A] comes into play when a captive cannot escape, is isolated and threatened with death, but is shown token acts of kindness by the captor. It typically takes about three or four days for the psychological shift to take hold. [/P]

A strategy of trying to keep your captor happy in order to stay alive becomes an obsessive identification with the likes and dislikes of the captor which has the result of warping your own psyche in such a way that you come to sympathize with your tormenter! [/P]
