The U.S. Led Security crackdown is working

Swing and a miss. Strike TWO!! Not everything revolves around you're religious fixation. Are you even going to try and argue the point or does it elude you?

It's a simple task. Local's post indicates that all is going to plan, the Pentagon seems to think other wise. Simply state which you believe to be true and supply some sort of rational (I know that will be hard for you but give it a try any way) to support your premise.

Your self assured wisdom is sad and pathetic but typical of the lost. This is scary for the enlightened knowing your final destiny and why we are so consistent in what you perceive as insanity when the reverse is actually the reality you will forever face. Deep down in your soul the light flickers making you angry lashing out. Your are writing your miserable destiny with alien thoughts produced by the enemy which you embrace even celebrate believing it’s just worldly knowledge, even though in reality your mind is a host which holds no water and like a sieve is a totally useless container.

How exactly are the 'libs' "willing to compromise the safety of our troops to assure defeat."?

Two words...Pelosi/Murtha <_<

What part of the cheery report warrants a pint? The part about casualties being the highest since the war started or the part about the casualties being troubling high"? I just want to make sure I am toasting the right thing.

Liar, Liar....

How about the part you ignored. B)

Since the crackdown began, weekly totals have dropped to about 80 - hardly an acceptable figure but clearly a sign that death squads are no longer as active as they were in the final months of last year.

Bombings too have decreased in the city, presumably due to U.S. and Iraqi success in finding weapons caches and to more government checkpoints in the streets that make it tougher to deliver the bombs.

In the 27 days leading up to the operation, 528 people were killed in bombings around the capital, according to AP figures. In the first 27 days of the operation, the bombing death toll stood at 370 - a drop of about 30 percent.

U.S. military combat deaths have also declined, according to an AP count. Twenty-four members of the military were killed in Baghdad from Feb. 14 through March 14, compared with 29 from Jan. 13 through Feb. 13. Overall nationwide, there were 68 U.S. military deaths from Feb. 14 through March 14, compared with 112 from Jan. 13 through Feb. 13.

Happy Saint Paddy's Day

Whats a Lib to do?

Can the Bush plan actually be working?

What's Big Nance and Abbie Murtha to do now?
What really scares me about these two is the complete and total stock they put in the failure of the US military. If We actually pull this off in Iraq, they KNOW they will be out of power completely. They have bet the farm an an AMERICAN defeat. Just how far would they be wiling to go to hang on to power is a very frightening question. Is it truelly outside the realm of possibility that they actually hope for, and perhaps even ASSIST in deaths of American Warriors to further their own agenda? We already know that their allies at the NEW York Times have no qualms about giving away security secrets that we use to try and stop the Islamo-fascists. Is it that much more of a stretch to imagine them covertly giving aide and comfort, and perhaps even intel, to the enemy? Food for thought.....

Could the tables be turning?

The group says it abhors the killing of Iraqi security forces, and a commander, speaking on condition of anonymity out of security concerns, said his group turned against Al Qaeda over just that issue.

"We do not kill police or army members, or call for their killing," he said. "Al Qaeda threatened us for taking this stance. ... They began to kidnap and kill our fighters, so ... we began to fight back."

"But after recent killings among our Iraqi people in the province, we decided to fight alongside Iraqi and American troops," he said.

"I've found them very beneficial — they've helped us in Buhriz and Tahrir (neighborhoods of Baqouba)," said al-Rubaie, a Sunni. "They're fighting on the side of the Iraqi army with enthusiasm, and without requesting a lot of money or weapons."

"They're grassroots, organized — even like neighborhood firemen — and they've decided they want a safe environment," said Brig. Gen. Mick Bednarek, deputy operations commander for the Army's 25th Infantry Division. "Will we leverage that? Darn right we will. And is it a potential risk? Sure it is — but it's one we're willing to take."

I'll let you know in 2009 when the new president with draws the troops and we can see if Iraq can survive on their own.

I was listening to parts of an interview Jon Stewart had with Bill Moyer and he said something very interesting.

He said that we have been told by the Cheney Co. that we are in a fight for lives in Iraq. That our very future depends on it. He said that give all that is at stake, you would think Cheney would send more than 10% more forces to help out in Iraq. You would think that he would want to send maybe 400,000 more forces given that ‘we are fighting for our survival’.

Of course we do not have 400,000 troops to send and in order to get 400,000 troops we would have to have the draft and I am pretty sure americans would run out every politician who even thought about a draft being a viable option. The whole thing just makes me wonder exactly how important this really is? Are the political futures more important than the fight for our lives or is I really not a fight for our lives much less a fight even worth fighting.
