The world is sliding down in BC. There are several major highways closed across the province, and more snow and rain is comming.
The Trans Canada Highway #1 has been closed for 36 hours near Revelstoke, and is expected to remain closed for 48 hours more.
Most heli-ski ops are grounded today, and the weather is expected to remain very poor for up to 4 more days.

What a mess!

Get that cleaned up before I get out there! Just what I need - more winter.

Maybe you''ll get some work fishing people off the hills?

Chin up buddy - spring''s coming, it really is...

It''s pouring rain in town now, not a good sign in the mountains. Slides keep roaring down, the hazard is now extreme. Every back country operation was kicking off 2.0''s to 2.5''s today. A highways crew attempting to clear the road got dusted by a class 4.0 (mega-big avalanche), so everyone went home.

The new 407 rate is now 3,000/hr, and my fav steam-duckie is up to 5,000.

Good for you Buddy. Now, just watch some idiot show up and start selling A-Stars for $2950 and a clapped-out S55 for $4950....

407, saw your back yard on the news...what a mess!!!

so did ya land on top of the semi''s

pussies, make the pilot fly in zero-zero and white out but a little loose snow and some avalanches and they hid in there cabins...Suck it up!!!

are you on scheduled time off or just a slow down due to the slides?

V-Ref, it''s far worse today. Those pics were taken by Selkirk Mountain Heli from YRV. Most of my valued back-copuntry customers (read: Yogurt sucking mutants) are staying inside their Mountain Huts today due to extreme avalanche conditions.

V-Ref, every day is a work-day on a Base. I''m between jobs right now, there''s a lot of work pending, but nothing is going to happen soon. When this weather breaks though, you''ll be hearing the sweet sound of a steam-chicken, intermixed with that unmistakable 4-per beat of a 407 from dawn to dusk. You may even hear an obnixious 3-per from the low-rents next door too?
