So, what are you trying to tell us?

Dog, IF we can somehow get this #^*+&^%# link to work, it should generate a lively "back and forth"
For my part, I'm just the messenger, NOT the message !

The article/study deals with....1. low IQ/ 2. conservative beliefs/ and 3. Bias.

Evidently you are neither the messenger (posting a link that you can't get to work) or the message.
I have several links on the topic but my commie filter won't let me post it.
Maybe you should Google it...

Yet the People who identify as Tea Party members have a demographic that shows them to be pretty much like the rest of us. From the Gallup Organization

Tea Party Demographics

PRINCETON, NJ -- Tea Party supporters skew right politically; but demographically, they are generally representative of the public at large. That's the finding of a USA Today/Gallup poll conducted March 26-28, in which 28% of U.S. adults call themselves supporters of the Tea Party movement.

Tea Party supporters are decidedly Republican and conservative in their leanings. Also, compared with average Americans, supporters are slightly more likely to be male and less likely to be lower-income.

Also what of Ron Paul supporters?

Texas Congressman Ron Paul is 76 years old, yet the demographic from which he attracts the most amount of support is voters less than half his age. Just what do young voters find so appealing about Paul?

MORE

When it comes to validity of information I'll take the folks at Gallup Organization as opposed to one of the McKenzie Brothers relatives who made it through University.

Sparrow,.................."McKenzie brothers"...seriously, thats a GOOD line ! 😀

Specifically, you're mention of young RP voters, I'd argue are most likely ..well read/up on everyday goings on nationwide/worldwide.

We could "mine" plenty of smart people from a backward state like (say) Mississippi, and extract low IQ folks who nonetheless would be just as commited to thier moral issues even if they were rhode scholars, ...BUT when all is said and done, thier are a TON of uneducated, ill informed people(of whats going on around them) , who are too easily "channeled" with a "mah DADDY told me you don't NEVER vote for ANYONE if he AIN'T a republican" "
Further, as the study suggests, people like these don't have the skills to understand or accept differing views from other people very different from them.

Could the study be controversial............Absolutely, but the facts are clearly very Logical !!

It is what it is.

PS, I'm surrounded by a number of "study folks" in my own back yard, but Not quite as many as in other places. I mean I hope you don't think ol' NEWT (x3) won SC on his good looks do you ?

The South doesn't elect nearly as many Democrats as it once did.

Does that mean they are getting dumber?

Forget the six degrees of separation, you can get to Ron Paul in any fleeting moment.

Ron Paul, Ron Paul, Ron Paul.

Well the point was that Conservatives are "Dumb" for lack of a quicker phrase. Ron Paul is as Conservative as they come. His demographic is wildy skewed towards young college educated or college students under age 30. This fact would seem to contradict the OP's contention that those of us who are conservative/libertarian are somehow inferior.

It would also be of note that of all political parties in the US the highest percentage of internet in home is the Libertarian Party. This dovetails nicely with the way Ron Paul campaigns.

I find that one can refute the study with relative ease and you don't have to look much past Ron Paul supporters.

Who is talking about libertarians? They are a non-entity in every world except their own.

OK and Ron Paul's verbal assault on the Federal Reserve and the issue moving into the mainstream has NOTHING to do with Ben Bernanke's decision to book four speeches to help "explain" how the Fed works. World of our own? I think not!
