Thanks for sharing. I did enjoy my trips on TWA in years back. I can understand they picked STL for the animation (largest hub, HQ at time of closing) but personally New York City and JFK T5 would have been better.

<_< ------- But like that MD80, I really have to get on with my life! As do us all!------ It's been one hell of a ride! I wish it would have turned out differantely, but it didn't!------ Life seems to be that way some times!

Thank goodness AA bought TWA. At least a few still have an airline career .....
Great video...

Yeah, Thank Goodness. Now 10 years later, they face the possibility of bankruptcy with most being on the bottom of the seniority list. Instead of 10 years with another company, they are about to get stiffed again. Believe me, the purchase wasn't all that great for them.

BK would certainly change AA for good. Say goodbye to employees, contracts, pensions..... very scary.

<_< ------- Listen people!------ The last thing I want to do here is start another TWA vrs. AA debate!!!----- Leave it be! It is what it is, and no amount of crying about it will change that!!!------ Who said life was fair!!? What I don't want to see, five years from now, is a tribute to AA, where a AA 737 takes off in the rain from DFW!!!------- And yes people, it could happen! (edited after the fact!) ----- In fact, speaking of dying dogs, if they continue down this same path, I'd say chances are pretty good it might!

Oh please. TWA was dying dog. That's a fact. AA made a dumb business decision, an over-reaction to keep up with UA-US which in the end never happenned. Why must we beat that dead horse, again?

<_< ------- It's a shame, people on both sides of the aisle, are paranoid whenever those three letters are mentioned! Fact is TWA was a great Airline.------ But so was Pan Am------- Did AA "steal" TWA's future?------ No. TWA's fate was sealed when Trans World Corp. spoon TWA off! When Carl Ichon took control! When he sold off our routes! When Ichons "posion pill" (deal with Karabu) was put in place! ------- It was unfurtionate how the AA deal came down for exTWA employees.--------- But do I blame AA for TWA's failures?------- No, can't say I do!

Just look at all the $$$$ AA spent saving TWA..Never mind what it did to morale..
Don't like your seniority????????????????????? Too bad.....

Of the 7 sin, Pride is at the top! When you start thinking your the best, and know one can touch you, better look around again.
All companys can fail. I don't want the same thing to happen again.
Yes I miss TWA, and I'll miss AA also.

Because some people are perpetually bitter and find it necessary to blame AA for TWA's failures.

And some... In keeping with the ratio of AA/TWA, about 4-5 x as many... are Perpetually Bitter and find it necessary to blame TWA for AA's Failures....

look at how the vestiges of Pan Am have survived compared to TW and you might have some basis for comparison.
UA acquired the largest part of Pan Am in 3 purchases over several years - the Pacific, LHR, and Latin America. UA's presence in the Pacific and LHR is still very solid. The Latin American acquisition for UA has fared worse... but the bigger question is how many employees UA hired and how many of these people were allowed to proceed as normal UA employees. I don't think any of them were singled out or isolated as PA employees... but I'd like to know if they were.
.
DL hired about 6500 PA employees w/ its TATL and Shuttle acquisitions - and those employees were integrated throughout the company.
.
Asked yourself whether those PA employees have fared better than TW's employees and you might discover why there is more bitterness over the TW acquisition by AA than from PA's dismemberment by DL and UA.
.
Laws were passed to make sure what happened to TW employees won't happen again.
.
It's also noteworthy that ORD is hiking airline/passenger fees not long after AA closed STL and ORD now tries to fix its longstanding airfield problems... bet AA wish they still has STL as an option for a hub.
