I am working on my pre solo test which is open book and I have a question? If all electrical power was lost in a piper warrior what would happen to the fuel gauges? would they continue to register or would they not register anything

The fuel gauges are basic electrical gauges using a float/rheostat sending unit at the tank to vary the amperage sensed by the gauges, which is nothing but an ammeter calibrated in usable quantity. It's been so long since I've flown a Warrior that I don't remember if the gauge reading goes to zero (empty) when power is lost or the needle just remains at the quantity displayed when power is lost, but either way the gauges become unusable.
