He will raise the price of his cars back up since he had to lower them to qualify for the tax credit. If you want to know how much Musk cares about you....The Cyberjunk is over $100k and doesn't qualify for the credit. But early adopters wanted one. Then, they drop the price to $80k....so the person who bought one a month ago for $100kl just took a $20k bath on his "investment" But that is peanuts compared to the carbon credits. I want to see him push to make THOSE go away.....you know...like every good Trumpster. While eliminating the tax credit will allow him to raise the price of his cars, he won't sell as many since that credit was what caused a lot of people to pull the trigger on buying one. But those carbon credits are 30% of those revenues and losing THAT will have a negative impact on his company. And I want to see him dance with Trump on stage as the obliterate the green new deal and cut the funds to help him build out his charger network (Musk takes a LOT of government money). So I guess kudos to him for personally taking it in the shorts for the betterment of his adopted country.
I still drive a Ford Mustang and thinking about changing it out for a gasoline powered SUV so I don’t really care about the Tesla Corporation. I like SpaceX a lot more than any of his other actually pretty cool Companies.
I’m sure the USA will still build out a charging network but it will be capitalism that drives that ambition. Private sector.
BTW any time a new technology like say larger 4K TV’s comes out they cost a fortune at first. That’s called supply and demand. As the supply increases and more people have already purchased the product the demand decreases and the costs come down.
