I almost choked when I read this one...

The TSA agent, as part of spot inspection of aircraft security, climbed onto the parked aircraft using control sensors mounted on the fuselage as handholds, according to a TSA official in Chicago, Elio Montenegro.

"Our inspector was following routine procedure for securing the aircraft that were on the tarmac," Montenegro told ABCNews.com.

"The TSA agent was attempting to determine if someone could break into a parked aircraft, according to Montenegro".

I hope they haven't found out how to get directly into an MD80 cockpit from the ground. We'll have to put a lock on the E/E door.

Ya know if they were SMART all they have to do is go to a bone yard and practice or just ask a mechanic how to break in to an aircraft. I think the word STUPID is more appropriate. The TSA has no business touching an aircraft without training. Thank God the TSA is not in charge of the DOT/FAA.

There can't be only three "biggest lies". How about "I'm from the government and I'm here to help you".

"Government, regardless of its level, be it city, county, state or federal, exists solely for the purpose of providing secure employment to the incompetent".

Anon.

I would be curious to know the level of education and previous job history this TSA employee has.

You do NOT need to be a rocket scientist to realize after a mere 1 second glance that this probe will not support a person's weight. The reply of, "Our inspector was following routine procedure for securing the aircraft that were on the tarmac," Montenegro told ABCNews.com., is I believe a ratcheting up of the level of stupidity the TSA previously possessed.

Why could this employee not have tried this same stroke of genius in attempting aircraft entry on a B777? The fall would have educated this moose head about two valuable lessons... 1) how gravity works and 2) they need to go back to the fast food chain they were making French Fries at before destroying an aircraft they do not understand anything about. {Although this individual might make good management material. :huh: }

"Ladies & Gentlemen, I am sorry to announce that your (connecting) flight has been cancelled due to the ignorance of someone who doesn't belong near an aircraft." 😱

Can we all say..... Stupid Idiot????!!!

Lately TSA has been doing the most questionable things....
a few weeks ago..... as a working crew member they decided that
there was something questionable in my carry on bag....
after pulling every last thing in my carryon bag, running each individual thing in
my bag seperately thru the ex-ray machine..... about four times individually..
Including my On Board Emergency Manual...... four times.....
after one half of an hour doing this...... they handed my bag back to me...

Ok.... I go through security 4 days a week with this same bag....
365 days a year..... When I asked this guy what he found....
he said he could not find it...... when I asked for a supervisor....
to tell him about this..... he asked the guy what he was looking for
and the guy told him he did not know???? Ok I still have that same
bag w/ all of the same stuff in it....... and it has not been pulled aside yet...
This is our tax dollars at work.....

TSA rocks!!!

( not )

1) you're assuming TSA employees are capable of learning and understanding gravity
2) you're assuming TSA employees are fast-food chain material

9 planes had to grounded. So this guy didnt learn after the first one he broke, or AE decided with that brain surgeon/security expert climbing over planes, we better check them all. Yea, I feel so much more secure with these yahoos on the prowl.

The TSA is nothing more than a glorified mall security guard, only there are 1000 of them...thus Thousans Standing Around. If you are an airport employee you are ok if you meet their 'click' requirements. TSA are part of the ap gossip mill and seem to target those that their click doesn't like.

I never wanted anybody to be replaced by machines as fast as tsa. They can't even get their Terror Watch List right. A pilot, a 5 year-old, and a lawyer with the same first and last names are on the list, and can't seem to get off. It was a story on MSNBC this morning.

 Hey lets send the TSA a bill for lost revenue, repairs for 7.1 mil. They could just fwd it to the FAA... 😀

Is there anything else at all these TSA yokels can do to prove what morons they are? I mean, what the hell did they do, go straight from burger flipper to Airliner Inspection Agent?

And what the heck was AA thinking by letting this moron continue after he had brainlessly damaged the first aircraft?

Thank heavens the TSA is still expertly keeping the airports safe by stripping airline agent's lunches of the milk, soda, juice or water! I feel better just knowing that those untrustworthy agents can't carry a soda to their break room but pilots and flight attendants who actually have access to the aircraft can carry a damn KEG through security - no problems!

I swear, I don't know who to pity more here as both the TSA and AA took a public punch in the nose over this!

Someday the whole system will just fall apart and we'll remember the TSA outlaws who single-handedly brought down the U.S. Transportation system! :eye:

LATELY?? Since when before "lately" have they done anything that didn't make anyone scratch their heads in disbelief over their stupidity?

A FA friend of mine and the crew were going through security last month at DFW when the xray "professional" went ballistic over a young kid's carry-on, screaming "Hold on! What is that? Is that a camera bag? Whose camera bag is this? is that a CAMERA in the camera bag?"
She then repeats it "Is this a camera in the camera bag?"

Next time I'm expecting her to ask "Is this a laptop in your laptop case?", if she hasn't done so already....

TSA is reviewing the inspection results and depending on the conclusion, could take action with the airline, up to and including levying of civil penalties.
This is from the TSA website!! They break our airplanes and are going to fine US!!! The world has gone MAD...
