United in in bankruptcy. If charging the people who use the pass benefits contributes in any small way to improving United's bottom line then good. If you don't use them or rarely use them then it doesn't hurt (it's still the cheapest way into a first class seat or almost any seat going). And if it helps keeps United from coming back to all their employees for more givebacks then even better.
