I know that unemployment compensation normally runs for 26 weeks and has been extended in the past for an additional 13 weeks. Does anyone know how long benefits extend for a person in aviation laid off in the not so distant future? Specifically, President Bush signed a bill last week that according to news reports was to extend benefits for an additional 26 weeks for aviation workers. I''ve gone to google to get information, but nothing seems clear cut. I also called up my local unemployment office and they do not have current information either.
