Hint....the Attorney General is nominated by the president and serves at the pleasure of the POTUS. The DOJ is an executive department whose chief executive is of course the POTUS.

Seems to me that the unions of American Airlines and Usairways can lobby hard against the DNC and The White House to make this a political issue and get the stupid lawsuit to go away. We will see if these Unions has balls or any power. What are you all paying union dues for anyway?

Really? You insult the intellegence of labor and it's members. Until the companies involved learn they can't do it alone they will find themselves standing alone. They instead choose to stomp on labor and their employees by negotiating in bad faith under section 6 and raping under bankruptcy. You reap what you sow. Do you even know what the first amendment is?

It only restricts the government from preventing free speech, a company is free to put restrictions on its employees on speaking out in the press and other venues.

Can you yell fire in a crowded movie theater?

Can you curse on regular broadcast TV?

Yes I know what the first amendment is, and it seems you have forgotten.

The first amendment protects the right to freedom of religion and freedom of expression.

Specifically the freedom of religion, speech, the right to peaceably assemble and the right to redress grievances of the government without fear of reprisal.

It was specifically those last two that I was thinking when I made my post.

Took EIGHT years for the AFA to get a JCBA, and M&R and Fleet have both asked for a release from the NMB as in two years the company wont negotiate in good faith.

It sucks...badly....but in the case of the pilots and F/As it is self inflicted.

I did not archive it, but I told F/As way way back on this board to break from the pilots, that usapa would never get a contract.


If the company is not negotiating in good faith, make the claim to the NMB and ask for release. If the NMB denies, then it actually looks like it is the union that is not negotiating, and rather making unobtainable demands.

If you do not want to tell the DOJ they are full of it, stay home. No problem, and I totally understand your reasoning, even somewhat agree.

I guess you dont know that the IAM has done that several months ago for the mechanic and related and fleet service, the board has not gotten back to the IAM at all, M&R asked back in May.

Just like the IAM has requested the mediator to schedule talks two weeks ago and repeated last week, the IAM has heard nothing back.

all the more reason not to support this raggie old mgmt team they make back room door buster deals with anthr carrier's union to support merger but they cannot settle their own.. pathetic. i definitely will not support mgmt merger til we get contracts
