I am constructing a large, United DC-8 out of Fiberglass with one side of the cabin open so the interior can be seen. I am putting a lot of work into this and would like to make it as accurate as possible to the final United DC-8 interior. The last United DC-8 interior I saw was in the late 1980's. I was about twelve years-old, but I recall the coach seats were brown with colorful checkers down the middle and First Class was burgundy with orange, red, and blue vertical stripes. Was this the last interior for the DC-8 or did it change over to the grey seats with the rainbow-colored diamond pattern down the middle like the rest of the fleet? Also, did the coach seats have the air conditioning duct on the back of the seat at the end? I seem to recall UAL doing a complete makeover of the DC-8 fleet right before they retired them. Feel free to post any memories on here or PM me if you like. Thank You in advance for your help.
