United May Not Emerge From Chapter 11 Till Fall

No, an intergral part of the business plan is to get the ATSB loan. Nothing new here, until the loan is either granted or denied, UAL will not complete restructuring. This government induced delay is meant to give adequate time to scramble together a plan B while still enjoying the benefits of the exclusivity period in the event of the "worst case scenario" of ATSB rejection. Just about every other aspect under UA's control has been addressed and resolved.
BusDrvr,

The competitive landscape is continuing to change daily, and I suspect that has much to to do with the validity of the POR, and therefore the acceptance of it as a basis for the ATSB loan.

Beware that the worst pain is dealt out just prior to emergence...pensions and other sacred cows are probably being looked at closely right now.

Hang in there, and good luck to us all!

The bottomline is that if paying back the loan is questionable, then the the loan is on hold.

More things may need to change to result in a formula at UAL that results in stronger likelyhood of a successful airline operation going forward, IMHO.

Otherwise the loan would happen now.

REGIME CHANGE IN '04!

You think regime change is going to improve corporate ethics? It just means a different set of pigs get their chance at the trough. Different party, same nonsense. Hang on to your wallets boys.
