UAL Corporation (Nasdaq: UAUA), the holding company whose primary subsidiary is United Air Lines, Inc., today announced it has reached its first tentative agreement on wages, benefits and work rules with the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), subject to ratification by union membership. The IFPTE is the first union to represent United's engineers and related employees, which includes 282 individuals based primarily in San Francisco, Indianapolis and Chicago.

"We are very pleased to have come to an agreement with the IFPTE after extensive negotiations," says Rick Wysong, vice president-Engineering, Materials and Planning, United Services. "Our engineers are a great asset to United and play an integral part in the work United Services does each day. I'd like to thank the IFPTE leadership and negotiating team for their hard work, persistence and flexibility in coming to an agreement that benefits its members and also helps keep United Services a strong competitor in the challenging MRO business."

The tentative agreement requires ratification by the IFPTE membership. The leadership of IFPTE will present the agreement to its membership and expects to complete the ratification process on March 8, 2006. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed pending IFPTE's presentation of the terms to its members.
