United to Cut 599 Maintenance Workers

I think this is only the start of a big cut which will be coming soon. Mechanics can blame a lot on the company, but in order to make the wages they have they must produce. To much attitude and not enough production is going to be the downfall of all the labor groups.
The wages could be supported before 9/11 but now that revenue is down so far it cannot support high wages. To keep solvent and come back out of BK all will have to sacrifice a lot. Hopefully with a new business plan they can tie wages to revenue and everyone will profit.
