Maybe CCY is not as dumb as we thought(nah. couldn't be possible):
BASED ON 10/18/05 SCHEDULE
CLT 3X734 2X733 3XCR7 1XERJ
PHL 1XE70 1X319 1X733 3XERJ 2XCRJ
LGA 9XERJ
PIT 1XCRJ 1XDH8
BWI AND DCA SCHEDULES are unchanged

NINE??? flights/day from LGA?! CLT, I understand since it's getting a lot of feeder traffic. But LGA?? Seems like overkill, but maybe not.

When were these flights added, market people book 6 months in advance. Hope Delta has some xlds or we may not fill them????

Having joined this board a couple of weeks ago, I kept noticing the references to CCY.

I finally figured that one out  Crystal City!

It HAD to have been on the advice of someone in Tempe. The idiots in CCY have never added capacity to GSO during the twice-per-year High Point Furniture Market, even though carriers like Delta always did. Are you reading this, you dumb-a** CCY folks? What a bunch of losers you people are.

I think there was added capacity last year, because, as I remember, there was a topic just like this. This topic is kinda deja-vu

Capacity was added the last couple of years for the Furniture Mart. We have done the same with MSY during Mardi Gras, SDF during the Kentucky Derby, JAX during the Superbowl and many other events.

The problem has been that the USAir flights are added 6 weeks out and the participants make travel arrangements 6 months out. Delta and United add capacity early and run full, we don't. Furniture manufacturing is big here, they say the High Point show will become a huge regional show and that the International show will move to Las Vegas. Will we see any GSO – LAS service?

What will command a higher fare, selling seats 6 months out, or having the seats that the last minute traveler needs 6 weeks out or closer? Perhaps we aren't catering to the "convention" rate tickets but to the local GSO consumer that will be able to drop a dime on US when everyone else is sold out.

Just a thought.

lol tell em STEWGUY----but I think Tempe has a bigger and longer stick now---at least I hope they do.

Okay....I stand corrected. Sorry to have gotten a little harsh there. 😉 I just get so frustrated with the powers-that-be in this company sometimes and their lame decisions. I've been out on VFR the last couple of years and didn't realize we'd added capacity to GSO for furniture market. Nice to hear they finally wised up and did that but why did it take them so long to figure it out?

Good question. That had been the suggestion for years. All those markets. SBN used to beg for extra seats during football season. I am sure there are a ton of markets where you could justify adding seats for special events. At least they have begun to actually take action.

Hopefully AWA will keep that momentum going

Does any of the Express step-kids have a crew base in GSO? Comair opened a crew base there back in June.
